Our version of the Tough Guy Challenge- not for the faint-hearted!

Hi there

I am going to be running a monthly circuit challenge starting today. Below are the series of exercises that from this month’s challenge. Please upload your fastest time to the site…..Will your time top the list???

How does it work?

50 reps of each exercise, rest as little as possible (or not at all), just a barbell and a fixed weight needed for all exercises, start with around 25% of your body weight and work your way up as some exercises are more challenging with this weight than others. The circuit MUST be done in this order.

As a marker I did the following circuit at 50% of my bodyweight in 20 minutes 36 seconds. This is my first attempt but if somebody betters it I dare say I will be trying again……Good luck and enjoy!!

Exercise 1- Military Press x50

Exercise 2- Deadlift x50

 

Exercise 3- Bent Over Row x50

 

Exercise 4- The Squat X 50

 

Exercise 5- Upright Row x50

 


Exercise 6- Bench Press x50

This is a decent work out but upright rows put your shoulders in an unstable position so are best avoided. Anyone whos injured a shoulder will know how bad it is!

I did this today, 38% of my body weight and came in with a time of 14.02 minutes. Bloody hard work!!!!!
