I wanted to do a piece about press-ups as I think they have lots of
value in a training environment. Press-ups are one of the most
functional movements. Think about it- every day you use press-ups
through the day, whether it be when you wake up and get out of bed, to
falling over and catching yourself, to pushing heavy furniture. All of
these use the same basic action, which is why it’s so useful.
It’s also important for women to build upper body strength, prevents
the dreaded bingo wings and even helps to keep your boobs nice and
perky. It’s great for guys as it gives you that proud posture that
everyone likes so much, while building the mirror muscles of the arms,
chest and shoulders. The other thing is that it costs nothing to do and
requires no equipment, so you can do it at home, in the park, or
anywhere you want.
I wanted to show you 12 different ways to do a press-up, so you can
add variety to your workout, and feel challenged. How many of these can
you do??
